Renewals and notice dates

Renewals in the order you have to act

A contract's end date is not the date that matters. The notice deadline is. Every renewal is listed by that deadline, with the action you can still take.

See what you can still do on every row

A date with no action attached is not useful. Each renewal says whether you can renegotiate, should give notice or can let it lapse.

  • Give notice

The notice window is open and closing. Give notice by the date shown to stop the renewal.

  • Notice window closed

Said plainly, with the date it closed. The contract renews and the next chance is a term away.

  • Ends unless renewed

Nothing happens unless you act, so doing nothing lets it lapse.

Built in

Get deadlines right for every kind of term

Fixed terms, rolling renewals and evergreen agreements each need a different rule. The calendar applies the right one.

  • Evergreen agreements

No end date is correct for an evergreen contract. It appears as terminable on notice, not as missing data.

  • Statements of work under a master agreement

When a statement of work has no term of its own, the calendar uses its parent's and says so.

  • Exit terms

Record termination for convenience and any early termination charge, so you know what leaving costs.

Outcomes

What changes when deadlines lead the list

  • No more surprise renewals

A notice date 24 days away shows as 24 days away, not as an end date three months out.

  • Renegotiation starts early

Contracts with room to negotiate appear while there is still time to get quotes.

  • Quarterly reviews take an hour

Filter to the next 90 days and walk the list in order with the owner of each vendor.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How is the notice deadline worked out?

From the contract's end date minus its notice period. If the contract has no term of its own, the parent agreement's term is used and the row says so.

What if I do not know the notice period?

The row shows the term as not recorded, and a finding asks for it. The calendar never guesses a notice period.

Can I get reminders?

The overview and the findings list show what is due. Ask an agent connected over MCP for the same list on whatever schedule you like.
